CURRENT VACANCIES AT SPARC: LOGISTICS & SECURITY MANAGER

The State Partnership for Accountability Responsiveness and Capability (SPARC) is a major programme funded by the United Kingdom government’s Department for International Development (DFID) assisting the Nigeria Government to build on governance reforms already under way in 5 states (Enugu, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano and Lagos).
In 2011, three more states (Kastina, Yobe and Zamfara) were added to the portfolio of states supported by SPARC.
We are looking for a LOGISTICS & SECURITY MANAGER to join the SPARC team, a new senior position based in Abuja. Responsibilities include assisting the National Finance & Administration Manager and supporting the five State Finance & Administration Managers, and three state Technical Coordination Managers in:
- Logistics arrangement for all SPARC offices – staff & consultants
- Security of the whole programme.
 - Journey management for all SPARC offices
- Ensure that logistics & security systems in place are updated and functional &
- General logistics & security administration – as directed by the National Finance & Administration Manager (NFAM).
THE JOB REQUIREMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
• University degree, preferably sociology, human resources management or other relevant educational background combined with relevant management experience; a degree in a security related background will be an advantage
• Minimum 5 years experience in logistics/security for International organizations (Donor Funded), of which minimum of 2 years at supervisory grade
• Proactive approach and the ability to think “outside the box” when developing solutions and strategies; independent, self-driven, able to handle multi-tasks and detail minded
• Team player who requires minimum supervision; able to communicate with staff of all levels and cultural backgrounds, strong analytical and negotiation skills
• Political, legal, security and cultural awareness from working experience in Nigeria.
• Proven skills and experience in report writing
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Computer literate

JOB SUMMARY:
Ensure efficient operation of Etisalat Nigeria’s media management system including the evaluation, selection, engagement and monitoring of media agencies
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:
Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
Assist in the development of relevant media strategies, proposals and plans
Ensure efficient execution of Etisalat Nigeria’s media plan and ascertain that the desired media messages reach the target audiences
Provide inputs into negotiations/contracts with vendors/media agencies as required and monitor their activities to ensure adherence to service level agreements
Monitor media campaign effectiveness via post campaign research to measure achievement of defined targets and compliance to approved corporate guidelines
Explore new media opportunities and possibilities for utilization of unconventional media
Develop effective strategies to manage cases of negative media coverage.
Develop and maintain relationships with key journalists, publications and programmes to support media and public relations activities within Etisalat Nigeria
Implement the unit’s work programs and plans in line with agreed upon procedures and guidelines
Assist in planning and managing the human and material resources of the unit to optimise performance, morale and enhance productivity
Provide leadership and guidance to team members and manage subordinates’ performance towards the achievement of overall team objectives
Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Head-Media Planning and Management
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head-Media Planning and Management.
Educational Requirements: First degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Postgraduate/ professional qualification in a related field will be an added advantage.
Experience & Skills: Between five (5) and nine (9) years work experience, with at least most recent three (3) years in a supervisory role

  • Assist in managing commercial budget administration and conducting business analysis

Principal Functions
  • Conduct variance reporting of actual vs budget/ revenue, subscribers and ARPU for all products and services
  • Assist in determining reasons for variance/ shortfall and addressing reasons for disparities on a monthly basis
  • Assist in the preparation of profitability analysis of commercial promos and products
  • Collate and closely monitor commercial OpEx spend with a view to gathering all detailed activities
  • Liaise with user group to ensure that commercial spend is in line with budget at all times
  • Conduct forecasting, budgeting and budgetary control on subscriber count, revenue and handsets for the entire commercial group
  • Analyze both budget and actual of all commercial spend in relation to commercial initiatives/ promos
  • Administer commercial budget
  • Work closely with Finance to investigate commercial spend and commitment when necessary
  • Conduct monthly review of OpEx report with a view to identifying areas of posting error
  • Assist in co-ordinating monthly Commercial Planning review session
Educational Requirements
  • First degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Economics, and any other related disciplines.
  • Chartered accounting certification/ qualification may be an added advantage
Experience & Skills
  • Between two (2) and five (5) directly relevant post-NYSC work experience.
