The Administrative Assistant will be based in the South Africa Country office as part of Resource Management (RM) team who handles administrative and accounting transactions for AFCS1 department (South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, and Namibia).   S/He will work under the general supervision of the Country Director, and the direct supervision of the country office Resource Management Officer (RMO), handling the following functions:

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Provide primary assistance and support to the RM team in processing accounting and administrative transactions.

• Handle routine data entry to the system, including check writing, filing of accounting documents.

KEY ROLES:

The objective is to carry out all projects safely, on time and within budget.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Review civil engineering aspects of Design Basis, design drawings, specifications, installation procedures, etc.

  • Evaluate received bids, Work tendered, therein ensuring competency of the contractor proposed for contract award (ability to timely execute the work,to the required standard, and with recognition of HSE and security/community relations issues). Draft contract award recommendation for line Manager and Tender Board.
  • Monitor Tender Board endorsement of a contract award recommendation, and ensure prompt compilation of a sound contract document, so that no work commences without a signed contract being in place.
  • Responsible (as site engineer) for construction work execution, with special emphasis on quality assurance of the construction works, and on Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) issues and security/community relations.

PERSON PROFILE:
  • Minimum of a 2nd Class Honours University degree in Civil Engineering or Equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 to 6 years working experience in a Civil Engineering position.
  • Good understanding of project management controls and procedures.
  • Good working knowledge of civil engineering codes and standards, with emphasis on oil and gas industry practices.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Work closely with other Project team members to define, examine implications, and propose new facilities and/or facilities modifications to achieve project objectives and to adequately process anticipated oil, water and gas production.

PTDF Drilling Engineers Training Programme (DETP)




The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) is the Federal Government’s Agency mandated to build capacities in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. The Fund has over the years been developing and implementing several programmes to meet identified human resources requirements to enhance the active participation of Nigerians in the industry.
PTDF Drilling Engineers Training Programme (DETP) 2012
In furtherance of its mandate, the Fund wishes to commence the Drilling Engineers Training Programme to boost local capacity for Drilling/ Production activities in the oil and gas industry. This initiative involves the training of Nigerian engineers at the Institute of Petroleum, IFP, and France as internationally certified Drilling Engineers for effective participation in the industry’s upstream sector activities to enhance Nigerian Content.
Duration
The said programme has 4 months duration.
Eligibility
Further to the above, the Fund hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates who fall under the following two categories:
  1. Previous graduates of the PTDF Engineering Design Training Programme (EDTP).
  2. Young graduate Engineers who are staff of the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC).
Requirements
Applicants for the training programme must meet the following requirements:
  • Possession of a first degree or M Sc. in the following engineering disciplines; Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic and Marine engineering ONLY
  • Applicants must possess a minimum of second class lower degree
  • Applicants must not be above 35 years of age

In addition to promoting greater public awareness of the needs and rights of children worldwide, Alliance members coordinate emergency relief efforts, helping to protect children from the effects of disasters, both natural and manmade. We also work with the existing Food and Nutrition Partnership Forum to influence government and donors to bring the issue of malnutrition and poverty into the national agenda.
STATE TECHNICAL ADVISOR : 

ROLES
To strengthen the capacity of the State Nutrition Officer (SNO) and deputy(s), if applicable, In management, delivery, and advocacy of cost-effective malnutrition prevention and treatment interventions (interventions include – Infant & Young Child Feeding. Community Management of Acute Malnutrition, Maternal & Child Health Weeks). 

QUALIFICATIONS
• University Degree  (B.Sc. or equivalent) In health, nutrition or related subject. A Postgraduate qualification in health related subject will be an advantage.
• Strong programme management background with at least 5 years professional experience in managing health and/or nutrition programmes.
• Significant experience in planning, managing and monitoring budgets as well as effective resource planning. Including commondities  and technical expertise.
• Significant experience in planning, managing and delivering a programme, Including costing, managing and monitoring budgets.
• Ability to build support from staff across teams and across members, and to build the capacity of others.
•   Commitment to SC UK mission. values I and approach (includes child protection, equal opportunities and health and safety).
M & E ADVISOR

ROLES
Ensure implementation of the M&E plan for Improving Nutrition Programme. Including monitoring progress against activity and critical milestones as well as providing support and guidance to STAs, LTAs and Government counterparts.

QUALIFICATIONS
A University degree in relevant field, professional qualification at postgraduate level or equivalent in health economics or epidemiology is desired as well as advanced training in quantitative methodologies; including database management.
